Job Title: Senior Accountant – NY Accounts
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant – NY Accounts to manage and oversee accounting operations related to New York (US) entities. The role involves handling financial reporting, compliance, reconciliations, and ensuring adherence to US accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end accounting for US (New York) clients/entities
Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and relevant tax regulations
Handle month-end and year-end closing processes
Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) cycles
Coordinate with CPA firms, auditors, and tax consultants in the US
Prepare and file reports like 1099, sales tax, and other NY filings
Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate bookkeeping
Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Support audits and financial analysis/reporting
Key Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles
Hands-on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, etc.)
Expertise in reconciliations and financial reporting
Good understanding of US taxation (especially New York compliance)
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
Qualifications:
B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CPA (preferred)
Certification in US Accounting/Taxation is an added advantage
Preferred Background:
Experience in KPO/BPO or outsourcing firms handling US clients
Prior exposure to New York-based accounting or multi-state accounting
Ability to work in night shifts (if required for US time zone)
